Google Nexus One Announced

The Google Nexus One smartphone has just been announced today running the Android 2.1 OS. The phone is for sell through T-Mobile or unlocked through Google’s website. Verizon‘s version is coming soon until then, your stuck with the Droid. I have seen some videos on this phone in action. It looks tight, a lot of 3D effects going on and of course it features all of Google’s many services like YouTube, Gmail, and more. But I seen a video comparing the Droid, iPhone, and Nexus One loading up a webpage on wifi and the iPhone finished first. Second was the Nexus One, third was the Droid. It’s a sweet phone and i’m interested in seeing what it is capable of in the long run after some initial firmware updates. If you want a Nexus One.. Right now your looking at paying $529.00 from Google or $179.00 from T-Mobile with 2 year contract. For all the specs & pictures…

Google “Nexus One” Phone Being Tested

Yesterday afternoon, news spread of Google’s new phone called “Nexus One“. This smart phone runs the Android operating system and has already been sent out to some google employees apparently. The photo above is from Cory O’Brien’s Twitter page. He describes the device: “Google Phone = iPhone + a little extra screen and a scroll wheel. Great touch screen, and Android.” This phone will be sold online by Google carrier free, unlocked, and estimated to be available in early January 2010.

It has been confirmed that Google has sent out the Android 2.1 operating system to employees running on the HTC Passion unit to test over the holidays. Expect the final version to be similar.
